Mrs. Colapietro and Mrs. Volpe 5th Grade - Newsletter
Welcome to another exciting month in Mrs. Colapietro and Mrs. Volpe's 5th Grade! 🎉 We hope everyone is ready for some fun learning adventures ahead. Let’s dive into what we accomplished over the last few weeks and what’s coming up next!
February
What a fantastic month we had! Our students showcased their skills in the STAR math assessments, and we had an amazing field trip to PPAC that sparked creativity and inspiration! We watched a play called The Vanishing Elephant and it was amazing. Some kids said it was the best field trip they had ever experienced. 🎭 The whole-grade science experience was a hit, and we are wrapping up Module 4 in math with great enthusiasm. Students have learned how to add, subtract multiply and divide fractions. In reading, students compared two texts on the same topic, enhancing their analytical skills. In Social Studies, we delved into the fascinating world of the builders of New France. 🏰
March
Get ready for some hands-on learning! Next week, we will conduct a science experiment on emulsifiers, which is sure to be a blast! 🧪 We will continue our exploration of the French in North America and keep comparing two texts on the same topic to deepen our understanding. Plus, students will be taking the STAR ELA assessments, so let’s cheer them on! 📚
Things to remember
As we move forward, please remember to encourage your child to review their notes, practice their multiplication tables (if necessary), and stay organized. It’s also a great time to discuss what they’re learning at home to reinforce their understanding. Don’t forget to check the school calendar for upcoming events!
Until next time!
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our classroom! We are excited for another week of learning and growth. Let’s keep the momentum going! 🌟 Have a wonderful month ahead!
