Grade 2

We are excited to share what your child will be learning in the coming weeks! Our classroom is busy with lots of fun and meaningful learning.

📚 Reading & Writing- We will practice understanding stories by identifying the main idea, key details, and making connections. We are learning about informational writing. We will work on building strong sentences and paragraphs. Students will practice writing clear topic sentences, adding details, and ending with a concluding sentence.

🔢 Math-We will continue developing addition and subtraction skills using place value.

🌎 Science In science, we are learning about designing mixtures for a certain purpose. We will be experimenting with different mixtures to design a glue!

🏫 Classroom Focus
We continue to practice good listening, staying organized, and using kind words with classmates. We’ve talked a lot about how our words are powerful!
