Welcome to Our Second Grade Adventure!

Hello, wonderful families! We’re so excited to share all the amazing things your second graders have been up to. This week, we’ve been busy exploring new math skills and sharpening our writing talents. Let’s dive into what’s been happening and what’s coming next!

Last Week

We just wrapped up our second math module! Your kids have been learning all about measurement and are now starting to add and subtract double-digit numbers using a variety of fun strategies. It’s been fantastic to see their confidence grow as they tackle these new challenges.

Next Week

Get ready for a deep dive into adding and subtracting with place value! We’ll be sending home parent tip sheets to help you support your child’s learning at home. In writing, we’re continuing to work on personal recounts—be sure to ask your child why writers write recounts and what stories they’re excited to share. Don’t forget to keep reading daily with your child and practicing fact fluency to keep those math skills sharp!
