Welcome to another exciting month in Grade 1 with Mrs. Ferranti and Mrs. Manwaring! We are thrilled to share all the wonderful things happening in our classroom. Let’s dive right in!
February
Last week, our first graders showcased their creativity and research skills as they wrapped up their informational writing projects! Each student chose an animal to study and created a fantastic final piece that highlights their findings. In phonics, we continued our journey with r-controlled vowels, and we’re diving into plurals and multi-meaning words. Plus, our young writers are learning how to add sentences to make their writing even more exciting!
March
Looking ahead, we will be focusing on reading strategies to enhance comprehension and fluency. In Math, we completed Module 3, where we measured, graphed, and analyzed data. Next month, we will kick off Module 4, which will introduce place value concepts. We will also continue to strengthen our problem-solving strategies, ensuring our students are ready for any challenge!
