Hello families, 

September recap…..

We started the year learning classroom norms and procedures. Having our own art classroom has expedited the art making process and aided in the independence of all students. We have begun the year learning about the elements of art, principles of design, and proper material use. 

Looking ahead…

This month, we will start to make projects that are more intensive. We will spend weeks scaffolding our projects with a goal of finalized work to display at school, at home, or in the school or district wide art show. 

I hope that in the coming months you see your students' love for art flourish and have work come home that you are not only proud to display but impressed by. 

Every child is an artist, creativity takes courage, and art speaks where words are unable.
